Pretty clear now the initial mask theories of not to wear them was all lies. And I get it in the regard they lied because they had short supply so that the health workers would get them instead as they should.
But that lie added to the spread. Now they re saying wear anything that you can make yourself at home to cover your face. Wouldnt have been that difficult for some companies to start sewing even cloth masks which would have helped and maybe would be better as you could wash them daily. This should have been done months ago. No leadership at any level.

The lack of common sense provided to the public is astounding.

Japanese zeros used Firestone tires. Japanese torpedo boats used Chevy 6 cylinders and German torpedo boats used Ford V8s. Singer sewing machine made parts for everyone. Can't stand in the way of corporate profits.

We're talking about paper masks FFS. If 3M can't get the pulp from BC it will take them roughly 30 seconds to find an alternate source. The fact it comes from BC just tells you that BC was the cheapest source.

Get real folks - we're talking about paper face masks that we were happy to import from China as recently as 30 days ago. If we can't build paper face masks in Canada we don't deserve to survive this BS. President Trump is looking out for his citizens. I wish I could say the same for our own leadership.

And it sounds like the perfect place to make masks would be BC....but more than likely it would have to be set up in Quebec...just saying...

After numerous studies by bureaucrats it would be Quebec with the source of the inputs from BC....less efficient but more jobs...

Big Wheel thats the leadership we have in this country and every country except the Asian ones that had to deal with this in previous outbreaks. Shud have been a no brainer when u look at news footage of all the Chinamen and Koreans with them on.

Yes for sure they would, also they would decide not to use BC paper. Instead it would be imported from offshore.

NEW YORK -- New York secured a planeload of ventilators from China on Saturday, and Oregon was sending a shipment of its own to battle the coronavirus pandemic at its U.S. core, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said. But the governor's startling plan to force hospitals elsewhere in the state to give spare ventilators to the fight in New York City apparently hadn't yet materialized, a day after he ordered them to surrender 20% of any unused supply to the National Guard for temporary redistribution. The state got 1,000 ventilators after the Chinese government facilitated a donation from billionaires Jack Ma and Joseph Tsai, the co-founders of the Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba, Cuomo said. He added that the state of Oregon had volunteered to send 140 more breathing machines.

Trump knew how to go broke as a business man and it looks like he'll do just fine with the USA as well.

Trump certainly had lots of practice so it will come easy for him!

The CCP, by design or coincidence has sure caught us with our pants down on this whole thing. Allies arguing amongst themselves over simplistic supplies that take little or no talent/education to create in mass yet here we are. People are dying, some who recover from hospital will likely have life altering ailments from scared lungs etc. The economy may fail causing a depression and the blame cast upon capitalism. Businesses, families will be ruined. Governments mostly insolvent already may fail. The first line of Defense between us and them(insert whoever) is the US flat tops which are now being infected by the Chinese flu. The worst part about that is you and I shouldn’t know about this no matter how bad it is, at least not at the time. Doesn’t take a hypersonic missile to put an a/c carrier out of business. Or a spy to inform about it when the leader of the ship thinks he’s running a cruise ship not a war armada. As bad as the Chinese flu is, the hit to the crew would be potentially worse from a missile or other ship and the fight would need to be carried on. Advantage China.

Trumps a moron, a bully, a cheat, an ego maniac, and a liar. It was pretty clear from the start.

Lots of prominent Republicans including the Bush family and John McCain had no use for him. Trump attacked McCain's military service record. While he managed to avoid the draft with a "bone spur"!

                              Many of his appointments quit.

Republicans put up with him because he has the power and support of many Americans for now.

If the US medical system fails under the weight of covid 19 the blame will placed on Trump. New York is the start.

The mask issue just highlights Trumps failings as a president. China is helping them out now. Is China Trump's friend now?

Trump has ordered American manufacturers to ramp up the production of medical supplies.

Ford has done a good job and has led well on this issue. And is right in saying we should have our own production of many medical supplies.

But when you have a long standing relationship and confirmed order with a regular supplier and then Trump says no you would be pretty pissed.

Just imagine if that happened with supplies of fertilizers or seeds for your farm?

Good for Moe and Ford to speak up and express their anger about Trump.

The traitors on this site who support Trump no matter what he does should hang their heads in shame!

Ditto for those that support Trudeau. And no I am not a Trump fan, since that is the first thing that is going to come out of your mouth.

But it is maddening that you say look over here! Look how bad Trump is doing! When Trudeau (your magnificent leader) is doing way worse.
