Jody Wilson Raybould as Justice Minister was supposed to have the final say on the extradition but no comment from her at all. The extradition was clearly taken over by Trudeau and his fascist friend Freeland and they handled all the press. Again this is another reason why we need a public inquiry.

Why would Trudeau want to have a very public battle with JWR over the SNC?

Because he wanted his approval rating as a Prime Minister to fall? hahahaha

Just like Harper and company tried to cover up the Mike Duffy payment, Trudeau was trying to put a lid on JWR. Its very unusual to see a high level cabinet minister attack the PMO and damage her own party.

Normally disagreements would stay behind closed doors.

If she didn't agree with the prime minister the correct thing to do was resign.

There are still penalties applied under deferred prosecution agreements and also accountability. Several countries have and use the same deferred prosecution agreements.

You are correct the crown prosecutor makes the decision and the Justice Minister Jody Wilson Raybould agreed with it and that should have been the end of the story.

However the PM Trudeau and his hacks pressured her and the ethics commissioner found Trudeau guilty of pressuring JWR.

Its obvious that the scale of corruption and fraud at SNC is well beyond what would be acceptable for a deferred prosecution agreement.

In the first case the SNC executive received personal kickbacks in the millions.

Trudeau and the PMO were wrong to try and influence JWR.

Was it illegal? JWR said no and there were no charges.

Their pressure to seek a deferred prosecution agreement failed anyway.

The issue has interesting consequences. Should Jody Wilson Raybould have caved to the enormous pressure exerted on her by Trudeau and his office staff and overruled the crown prosecutor it would have been JWR who committed the crime.
