The west needs a rapid delink from Canada and reconnect to US infrasructure. Ours is a joke.

https://business.financialpost.com/executive/posthaste-this-cn-rail-strike-is-bad-but-its-just-a-symptom-of-our-economys-much-bigger-problem This CN Rail strike is bad, but it’s just a symptom of our economy’s much bigger problem

Charlebois says logistics are the backbone of our economy and Canada should have invested triple what it has since 1980. “Our government may not be keen to force an end to this trade dispute, but it certainly needs to think about how it can do a better job in providing our agrifood sector better access to market.”

Demmurrage is always an excuse to lower prices even if the BDI says vessels are losing money actually moving grain....they are quite happy to sit and collect and grain cos can pass those costs to farmers....

Chicago wheat is worth more than Minneapolis wheat....go figure...very rare for that to happen....

That's about 2 million tonnes of floating space.....or 4 weeks work for both railways. ...our system is so phucked. ...

We will be seeing a 2013 event again....and everyone will be wondering how did that happen....

Pretty obvious if you think about it....

Ag minister that say something about CN after they go on strike instead of back in July ....MPs that go to sleep .....

Off topic ....Devin Dreeshen talking about better risk management for farmers.....he was in Ritz's office in Ottawa when they gutted farm programs....

That's the kind of foresight western Canada farmers have....

No one company should be able to hold a nation's economy hostage whether it be union or management decisions...

Nationalize the railways before we lose all our markets to the FSU....someone do the math on losing a few more markets that the FSU are more than happy to infill with their investments in infrastructure and agriculture....

And the liberals talk about saving jobs for SNC as an important election platform ..... yet jobs and farms are not worth saving....because they can be infilled by foreign aid to the Ukraine....

This is just stupid ...they are striking to improve safety and the company, government, or CTA does not want to fix it...somewhere the system is broken...
