Yet separation solves none of your complaints. Eastern Canada still would not buy western crude. It would be even tougher to build east/west pipelines as now we would be dealing with a hostile foreign country. (If we cannot convince governments to build a pipeline in our own country how in the hell do you think we could convince them after separation) And KXL has been stopped not in Canada but by US interests so to think a country that is now self sufficient in energy is suddenly going to approve pipelines then did not want before is nuts.

Truduea has to go for more than just oil. He’s a incompetent quack.Originally posted by SASKFARMER View PostBIG WHEEL then vote NDP or GREEN LIKE YOU WANT TO AND DROP IT>
We have a useless fool in Ottawa that is crushing every single thing out west.
Canola ****ED
Durum ****ed
Peas ****ED
So yea im more pissed off at trudeau than just oil
But a day after a conservative win tell me arenrhwy going to compensate for trade loss in price? Fixing or getting rid of agristability and fixing crop insurance or what ever something better? Seed rights? Loss of competition or less grain cos? Grain grading? Grain being blended and sold higher than we get?
Which one of those have you heard anything out of a western mp?

We aren't trying to sell oil to the east. We are trying to sell it overseas.Originally posted by dmlfarmer View PostYet separation solves none of your complaints. Joining the US solves very single problem the west has with the stroke of a pen.
1. US dollar denominated assets
2. $20B in equalization saved
3. US capital floods the area and develops it as good as eastern Canada is.
4. Access to US labour
5. Access to US transport system.
6. AB becomes the richest US state per capita gets real say in govt.
Its all good.

The sad part is people in Saskatchewan don't know what real representation is....from our provincial government that gets a lot of support from rural saskatchewan ...to the farm groups that are amazingly silent these days....to our federal MPs that could just as well be cardboard cutouts with conservative written across it....
We do not get represented. Period...

More BS from Jazz. He neglects to tell you that we will now be valuing and selling our grains in US dollars too. So farmers get US prices for grain. You don't like the Canadian $ price, wait until we get the US equivalent price. Oh, and while we exported record wheat to China last year, after joining the US we will lose that market too because of the trump trade war. The US unemployment rate is less than Canada so how do we benefit from US labor? Unless Jazz thinks there should be more illegal immigrants in Canada. We have only 2 rail lines out of the entire prairies running to US, already with no blockage and we are free to ship on them so how does this improve transportation? And still no more pipelines! Nothing is stopping US capital now from coming up if there is a dollar to be made. And say in government is not driven by $ per capita but by population. We would simply be another small, backwater 2nd class state. While it may help oil producers, joining the US would be an absolute disaster for agriculture on the prairies.Originally posted by jazz View PostWe aren't trying to sell oil to the east.
