i think tom might be grumpy because of the tighter rules around 1a license.
I can understand.
Things were good here until a "culture" of rule breakers and benders arrives with their standards and beleifs that are not ours. A whole seperate industry was built around an existing one and for getting immigrants their commercial licenses. Rubberstamping proved fatal.

As i said in a previous post. Any new immigrant to this country should have to drive with only a class 5 and for the same probationary period canadian citizens new drivers have to, or maybe more! .....before they can even attempt to train for a 1a.

Yup canada, where we bend and twist ourselves into pretzels to suit everyone else!

You can't " what if " this accident....Maybe the truck driver was speeding also??????if he would have slowed down and the bus driver slowed down....and he still blew the stop sign.....how do you know the accident would not have occurred...

Truck driver should have been charged with murder owner of truck accessory to murder not deported unless spending life in prison back in where ever the hell they came from. That would send a message that putting people on the road that shouldn’t be isn’t tolerated. But very little has been done from what I’ve heard most training facilities are by these people that are not qualified and in my opinion do not value life on earth as they should.
Drive down the road or get the details many semi related accidents are being caused by these people. These aren’t the only people murdered by people like this.
Government is scared to slow down the supply of truckers that’s the real cause of the accident and many others. They should be accountable but aren’t. All immigrants should have to have a class 5 for 5 years prior to even attempting a 1a simply to become familiar with our road system and language.

Farmaholic, Exactly... "All accidents are preventable"... and if an accident does happen... sober second... and third....repeating... must be the lesson to be learned... so those who died did not die in vain... I do not have comfort in my soul... that responsible solutions have been implemented... 50km/hr slow down zones at major cross traffic intersections... stop ahead signs that are bigger... further back...with photo enforcement, would be money well spent...these lives lost deserve much more practical solutions... safety belts in busses that travel highway speeds... electronic gps logs for highway passenger busses... why should these busses be less secure than passenger aircraft?
