I think that this will have a significant impact long term. It will continue to shrink the cattle industry and reduce demand for feed grain. Pulse demand will increase slightly but the overall impact on the ag sector will be negative since you can feed a lot more people using plant based protein. Putting government money in this is a complete waste but stupid bureaucrats will do it because they are desperately searching for relevancy and government work pays way better than private work.
