In a few years they are going to look back and realize that a lot of these "disorders" are all stress related and that the internet is the primary cause. There is no hiding or down time for a lot of people today. Not very easy being a young person today.

I missed the interview, but did hear the knuckle draggers comment replayed the next day, probably on CBC, and perhaps I heard it out f context, but it sounded like Adler was holding Kenny responsible for the types of people who vote right of center, which didn't seem like a reasonable assertion, but there may have been more to it that I missed.Originally posted by grassfarmer View PostHere I thought this was going to be an election discussion - whether to elect a party that attracts the "knuckle draggers" as Adler put it or to re-elect the genius Notley.

Well I’m 60 years old and come from a village of 400 and I knew of 4 or 5 people with autism. Two of them were 15-20 years older than me, so yes it’s been around for a long timeOriginally posted by Horse View PostI think you are right about everyone wanting to be a victim, and needing a name to put on it. I have always wondered, was there autisim 60yr ago,if there was i didnt know anyone, some kids were slow or not as smart as others, were they instutionalised,or is this a new fenomonin. This seems to be quite common now is it in the water, air food, women wating longer to have babys????
I had polio as a 9yr old spent 3 weeks in hosp, but i walked out and am still going, some wernt so lucky, now some of my problems are old age or possibly a come back from the polio, more studys needed but wouldnt wait a moment to have kids vacinated for desieses but the ridlan, prozac, thing to make the teachers life easier is all wrong . As for sports can you just see a lot of these 300# teachers in the gym, ball diamond, arena? Not trying to be nasty but the teaching profession has sure expanded.

Anyone that had issues was grouped and sent to places like Battleford. No one dealt with it locally. Now days many won’t admit their kids have problems they blame everyone and everything else. Some kids need a good kick in the ass and swat side the head to get their attention. But first their parents need a good kick in the ass before that would get fixed. Some parents should have to pass a basic class on how to be an adult and have children. Many would fail as many don’t want to take responsibility for their kids that are spoiled assholes. So they then look for some kind of label any kind just to get ehmselves off the hook of being a responsible parent. The teachers and rest of class are expected to put up with brats. And everyone else gets blamed. It’s a crazy system getting worse. The good kids and the ones that gebuinely need help don’t get enough attention because so much resources are spent *** around with the fakers that just aren’t brought up rightOriginally posted by 15444 View PostAutism was first used as a diagnosis in 1943. Before that, it was seen and labeled as a symptom of schizophrenia.
