Canola seed cancelled this week, will go to flax. Also sold a quarter of land this week.

Sorry I see some major headwinds for this industry. I like farming and all, but its not enough to hope for unicorns and fairies and the competence of our government or the intelligence of the average voter. I voted for self protection.

Just wondering what you are doing with the former canola acres? Barley is hot this year around this area. Can't get barley seed any more in Alberta. Local seed grower is asking 10.25/bu for AC Morgan oat seed so apparently there is lots of interest in oats locally as well. Don't really think the oat market is that dynamic but time will tell. There was a lot of oats under the snow this winter in this area which contributed to some healthy oat prices for a time. Looks like a good year to lengthen rotations which will happen somewhat.

I was speaking of what Trudeau supporters will be cheering, how you mixed me up in that is beyond me!
Sorry for the confusion, I was trying to be sarcastic in return. I thought you made a very good post and it deserved notice. Apparently I failed to convey my sarcasm completely.

The start date - April 1 - befitting for a SF3 plan of action to kick off. All talk, no action - he'll seed canola again this year - needs something to bitch about all summer and boast about after harvest.
