We opted for the Indian Head Agricultural Reasearch Foundation field day today. They only highlight some of the trials at the field day. Lots of interesting and good work being done there. It was a long hot day, but they gave out lots of cold bottled water and fed us lunch and supper. It was also their 25th anniversary this year.

There has been criticism of where our commodity check off dollars get spent....some of those check off dollars are supporting some research at IHARF.

        Iharf does a great Job I can’t believe it’s 25 years.

        I opted for AIM.

Great hit day and crops aren’t to hit all way north . Heat starting to really show up.

It’s a bin buster. HaClick image for larger version

Our worst sand "spots" are beginning to fry.
Our whole crop could use a good shot of rain....but no matter what happens between now and harvest I still think our yeilds will be ahead of last year(on our farm)
Surprisingly though, our crops on average are taller than the plot crops at the research farms. We've had nearly double their rain fall this growing season. There are some wide cracks in that heavy clay soil already.

Mallee, do you wear a full brim hat or the ball cap?
Both hat in summer cap in winter

Everybody you talk to at show seems to prefer AIM over Farm Progress Show.
