Would be interesting to see a singulation row unit on a Pillar drill .

A buddy of mine has one and really likes it .

No, we have the JD, but yes, i really like the Pillar too. Mike showed me in ten minutes how it all came apart and adjust. Very good engineering. The JD is getting on so going to have to decide someday soon.

Yup , there has been a few seed masters in this area on 15in for a several years , done very well .
The most interesting drill in the area is a farmer set up flexicoil 820 frame on 15 in space with techno tills . Ran with just a Val mar and liquid cart . Excellent establishment and yields compared to any other drill out there . Cost effective if you want a dedicated canola drill .

Now the cost Canadian on the one Posted above from Argentina and the horsh is a huge difference.

Were getting screwed on price for sure.

Just did canola , soybeans and corn last spring .
You can seed wheat with it but I am not a fan of 15 in spacing for a wheat crop. They do seed winter wheat in Europe with it, but that’s a far different situation than our climate.
We are going to try an early variety of black beans with the planter this spring .
To compare with a paralink it would need to be a 70 ft plus Bourgault as far as ac/hr. But one pass fertility is not possible yet with these planters, so tough to compare machine prices ?
We are going to try a tow between liquid cart this spring to see if it’s possible. We are working with Horsch and Corner equipment on this currently to get it set up right.

It would be interesting to see the machine quality between a Horsch and the Argentine planters. Also I don’t know the planting speeds , durability and accuracy of the Argentine planters. Klause do you know?
I know the Horsch is very accurate in seed rate , liquid phos and placement at 8 mph keeping exact seed rates within 1-2% on each run if your seed TKW is consistent. Also don’t know if the other planters have individual seed row shut off control and sectional liquid phos . That’s standard on the Horsch.
So a lot of factors I guess . Much like Canadian made drills , options are not cheap.
We decided on the Horsch for a lot of those factors and have a local dealer. It’s a very heavy designed planter. At 40 ft we wanted a planter to cover 2000 to 3000 ac per year. We have been used to the ole JD planters (corn) , and they pale in comparison. But they are also 25 years old though lol , so not really fair comparison .
But SF is correct , they do command a “premium” here.

The agrometal vassali and Apache can mid row band and seed place fert and singulation. The meters are as accurate as any vac planter.

Horsch isn't the only high speed planter.... Lemken and Amazon have them too.

Canada is about 30 years behind in seeding tech again lol.

I quit putting n down with the drill I stream all my n on now in two passes one preplant and one later. I am also on a liquid phos program just curious about horsch my replacement drill is a few years away but would like the concept. could a person make 2 rows on planter to get 7.5 inch rows. Anybody have a Salford disc drill?
