However they did manage to open up livestock markets more than it was. Maybe livestock guys can comment on whether that was a major or minor deal.
Minor deal big wheel. Like Ritz flying around the world "opening markets" it's all BS. Government is not in the business of selling beef, nor should they be. Beef goes where Cargill and JBS can make most money selling it. As such we have no "Canadian beef industry" for a Canadian Government to speak for. With over 90% of slaughter capacity in these 2 companies there is no competition so even if there were a huge increase in exports to China there would be no need for these companies to pay an extra cent to farmers to get the cattle.

If you're going to have trade talks, then talk trade, access, tariffs etc. if we attached human rights to trade issues we wouldn't trade with the Saudis, Iran, many Eastern European countries, even the US (Gitmo).

As far as gender equality, now we stray into culture and telling another country their culture is wrong. Oh wait, isn't Justin telling us Canadians that too?

China needs Canadian exports. If you give in you will never be respected. It is the art of the deal, but not Trump style. China is more about climate change than other countries because they are running out of clean air clean water and clean soil. You could bend over and take it but it would only be a short term gain.

What respect does little potato have! Really you don’t think China is laughing at our putz as they google little potato and see how weird things are getting in Ottawa.

It’s Tuesday and the tears he is crying might be actually real as he flys home a failure on all trade. Walks out on Japan deal and finally someone sends him home

I can't see why Little Potato isn't taken seriously by Asian countries. 🙈
