Are we lucky we caught that rain June 14th or are we unlucky it rained so little all season? Or is it unlucky to believe in luck?

Peas in this area shutting down , and have shrunk almost 6 in the past 4-5 days
Some not bad looking pea crops but not sure what will be in them .
Some peas will not make 10 bus / ac
The odd field may make 40
There is canola fields as well that will not make 10 bus / ac
Wheat looks ok but the heads will start to turn white next week if we stay without any significant rain
Hrsw by far holding on the best here but still will be below average now .
Not speaking province wide , just the area NE and east of the Battleford's .
A lot of crop in that area is burnt out already and will produce very little .
Sad to see , that area had a good start .

The sprayer is parked. A few people are working down pulse and legume crops.

In 88 they had 50% normal rainfall so approx 6". In 61 which was the driest year on record approx 5". We are at 3" of rainfall it could end up being the driest in recorded history. There are areas under 2". Driest in years try driest in centuries. Give me some mud!!!

Hobby....have you just described your organic farming practices! No pesticides so no need for a sprayer, and legume plowdowns for nitrogen! But if the comment fits the theme....post on.
