What do collaborators have to do with this? Collaborators were all over occupied Europe. Vichy wasn't exclusive.

You maybe misunderstand the colonial aftereffects in Europe. There are considerable numbers of people in France, Holland, Belgium, UK and other European countries that were either born overseas in former colonies or are descended from those immigrants. Many are Muslims, there are issues around integration in some cases - point is this is not a new topic for Europe.

grassfarmer,---"Chamberlain maybe failed to foresee what was inevitable but at least he didn't help round up Jews for the gas chambers like LePen's lot did."

Unlike Chamberlain, George Soros did help Nazis round up Jews for the gas chambers. George Soros worked with Nazis to reveal Jewish hiding places and Jewish homes that had valuables the Nazis were looking to confiscate. George Soros admitted to doing this on a Dec 20th 1998 broadcast of "60 Minutes" hosted by Steve Kroft. Why is George Soros, one of the biggest funder of leftwing causes around the world, NOT IN PRISION ???

There are certainly some good arguments for Soros doing jail time but I doubt rounding up Jews for the gas chambers is one of them. He was born in 1930 so would be between 9-15 years old during WW2.
Doesn't detract from the fact Le Pens and their fellow National Fronters were collaborators and Nazi sympathizers.

What may be more interesting then Le Pen not being elected is the two previous parties that traditionally held power didn't even hit the radar. Macron is not the status quo. He's got immense pressure to create some change in the system. He's a "trump light". Focus shifts to Germany now, should be interesting ..... make no mistake the establishment is being routed

Would be a concern if Germany was to return to nationalist and extremist policies which helped lead to two world wars.
Brexit and America first policies not very comforting.
