Depends on thread. Nothing stopping cutting and pasting old threads to a new heading at top of list again. Couldn't control that.

Lots of boards lock threads after 1 week of no comments

Once anything is past the first page it typically is the end of the discussion. In periods of lots of new topics that can happen in too quickly. If something new is being added; then there is no reason to cut discussion off. That should be the deciding factor.

Did anyone notice this post has received way more views in a couple days than all the new threads that company has contributed. This is by far the widest exposure they have had on this site...and I imagine they appreciate you bringing their name before the public.

You can't buy such advertisement success; but good luck can give most unexpected exposure.
