Have to wonder what the 'slippage' will be, not only federal to provincial, but from provincial to intended use - whose purpose is yet to be disclosed.

Not sure why no one will talk about where it is supposed to go or at least the plan for it. Or the lack of plan for it.

"A carbon tax generally takes the form of an extra charge on fossil fuels such as gasoline, natural gas and coal. It is one way governments try to encourage companies and consumers to be more energy efficient, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and spark more investment in renewable energy sources"

I thought that was the function of supply and demand. Free economy driving innovation and technology. The cheap price of Pennsylvania oil made whale oil obsolete. Saving the whales!? And on it goes. How did we ever survive before chuck and his kin came along?

dumping the money back to the province is a pretty smart pre-emptive strike.
if it actually works that way . not the NEP

you have got to assume , that the province is supposed to do something green with the money.
whether the do or not ? well

very confusing, the whole thing, if we had a ten year drought , super hot , then we may be all onside.
the way it stands now. with the extra moisture, and longer growing season.
hey bring it on. it sure is not the sask. I am used too.

when it hits 50 something in India, and Florida and California see rising sea levels.
I can see it being a bad thing. but it is pretty hard to make big changes when the harm is some where
                else.

Bring on an extra 50 cents a liter and many will manage their energy needs differently (myself included).

Its self defeating to mention just how one can do that; because it just gives time for those not interested in listening to thwart alternatives such as rendering carbon capture useless; protecting their entitlement; lifestyles; their non productive ways, recreational based time usage; jet setting and general way that the world is evolving into without any ability to survive on one's own without everything prepared and ready to eat and use.

Whole lot like being able to survive on one's own in a desert or Arctic.

Id love to see a massive carbon tax on all pickups and big SUVs on the road that have no business purpose. You know, the city types who wax their tires and beds of their pick up trucks.
