CGC changed mildew grading on all wheats today. Durum included.

Won't help with the fus issues unfortunately.

        Hm. Increased. What was a 2red is now a 1red. 3red is a 2red. Etc. Etc.

I don't, no. Got it in an email. Should be up on the CGC site somewhere. Or will be soon.

            I'll have a peak when I have a minute.

If it is true it just goes to show how ridiculous grain grading is. Just think of all the tonnes of grain that get bought for less than what its worth. This same crock of shit is probably true for fusarium/vomitoxin down grading. I will check in later as well for a link to the announcement.

Today I got a text that said they will be able to buy all my red spring that was "graded" a two for a one! Am I grateful? You bet! Am I sick and tired of the games? You can't imagine. Now to patiently wait for the prices to increase to a reasonable value. Nice to see the rise in Minni wheat lately.

Somehow I forsaw grumbling about it LOL

It's my understanding that trials and tests have shown mildew has less effect on milling properties of wheat than previously thought, ergo the changes.

The CGC is usually running tests of one sort or another, just like the CFIA, so maybe one day fus and vomi levels will be lowered. If they may be raised. Who knows.

Juat got a note from USA merchant saying mills are backing off somewhat on Vomi.
