I could only imagine what would be posted on here if it was another party leader that had acted in this brave matter. The self proclaimed "rights" would have there keyboards worn out.

Forage, you are so lame. Everyone would agree that ALL Canadian leaders need protecting regardless of party lines.

The enemy is extremists. No matter race, religion, or gender. Extremists.

What was he supposed to go? Go out in the hall and see what the root cause of the gun fire was? If he would have done that and got injured or killed you'd be talking about how stupid he was for putting himself in danger.

Do you remember the day President Kennedy was shot? What a sitting duck he was! Can't imagine his not being protected. Same for our PM. Protocol would very likely point to " hide him before anyone else".

In the old days the "general" was the man leading the char ge in a battle; the captain of the ship was the last one to leave a sinking ship and the hero was the man who put himself in danger in order to try to save someone in trouble. Especially so for women and those less able to protect themselves.

But seems pretty easy to spin that to deflect attention in other ways.

Things have evolved; and protecting women and children is probably secondary nowadays. It may even be most about self preservation coming first.
