This site is becoming worse then coffee shop row. No one is screwing anyone. Fertilizer plants are full and if they want to make more then they need to love product. They are offering you a choice to buy now at this price or not. Up to you. Give the conspiracy theories a rest. The dealers are just passing on the info. If you want to argue there isn't enough competition then fine I would disagree but that is completely different.

Vwalk, I tend to agree with you, but you can't blame guys for being suspicious when the last guy parks the drill and urea drops from $550 to $350 a tonne.

What value should I put on taking delivery now, remembering this is going to cut into my valuable time, tie up bins we usually use at harvest and offload all storage risk on us?
Would 100 bucks a tonne be about right?

is it possible production whether over or lack of has nothing to do to with these current prices. is it possible with aging facilities the fert producers will face exorbident costs to maintaian or replace them. so as with grain dont you think they are just forcing or a better word manipulating the farmers to not only purchase well ahead and store at there cost. and then the inevitable. face all the liabilities of what will be coming with new enviromental laws governing safe storage with dyking systems. just saying.
