I don't think all the promises materialized from getting rid of the monopoly..... bringing it back probably wouldn't make them materialize either. Transportation and marketing accountability, market transparency, true arbitrage (we are closer now than we were the first two years), competition.

There has been benefits.... sell as much as you want, when you want, to who you want. And get paid all at once.

CWB did NOTHING when it comes to the effiencies of grain movement on the prairies The amount of times they sent grain to Thunderbay only to have it railed back to the west coast is disgusting. Rail effiency today for grain is at an all time high. So to say that CWB enhanced this is inherently false!

With the exception of a truely unprecedented event, basis level have been very tight since the dissolution of the CWB.

Why did scumbag Gray leave out the first year after the dissolution? Why did he level out the fact that storage among other things was a cost paid to grain cos? His study is bias, partisan and absurd.

        Observation of crowd:

        CWBA rep
2 NDP MP's, one from Regina, one from Quebec
        Sask Wheat rep, Bill Gehl
U of S economist, Richard Gray (CWB's most quoted economist)

        Just a general question:

Do all people representing and talk on behalf of the Sask Wheat Commission farm and pay wheat check off fees?
I notice Bill Gehl is representing the Sask Wheat Commission at this rally, wheat growers pay for this commission to exist.

Something needs to be done about Gehl. He's running around on our check-off dollars promoting a return to socialized marketing. Sask wheat is supposed to be supporting research and market development; not promoting an ideology driven agenda. The rest of the sask wheat board either must agree this is ok or are too cowardly to challenge their chair.
Getting a refund is one way. But I happen to believe we should contribute $ to make the industry better. Leadership by this sask wheat crew is driving the industry in reverse.

Too bad Ritz didn't finish the job when the monopoly was dismantled. The CWB could have been kept running for those who wanted it. There should have been rules for railways and grain companies, but that would take a little foresight. The only rules they implemented restricted farmers, as in UPOV. The CGC should have been strengthened not practically decimated.

True hermanson is a lap dag.

What we need is a true farmer owned and run grainco. Sadly too many think bins make sense in their farmyard instead of at a railway siding.

I also love the fact that NDP Ag critic R-E Brosseau sat across from me not that long ago and straight up said as far as she is concerned this topic is completely over and everyone should stop wasting time on it.

And really. What the hell is Bill Gehl doing there? NFU elected chair of the SWDC. Massive conflict of interest and not in the best interest of all farmers. I would strongly suggest getting your check off dollars refunded and give them to another organization to help advocate for farmers!

So are there any on this board that are not rabid socialists. Bunch of losers. Refund page is on their website. Printed and sent.
