Maybe food will go like housing and become expensive. Smart marketing will make organic, locally grown and environmentally friendly even more trendy. Keeping up with the Jones is not cheap.
Farmaholic, you pinched my tag line!
That was a quote from the New Holland News mag about 25 years ago. I can' t remember the title of the article. It was some kind of anniversary of agriculture in the US. Ironically, the quote was used to celebrate the productivity of US farmers.
Looking at both sides of the coin, and being sour on the state of the conventional industry at the time, that was the writing on the wall for this undercapitalized, inefficient farm!
In that timeline several farms grew exponentially and are successful.
Thinking of the goals for 2050, I like the idea of more demand for grains because that can be real and tangible. The co2 thing is a disguise for redistribution of wealth, and politicians encouraging the general public to chase unicorns.
My memory is foggy, That article was published more likely 20 years ago. I can't seem to find it online. I know for sure it was in the New Holland News.
