Take a good long look at Greece. Socialism and gov. control of an economy is an unmitigated disaster for absolutely everyone... even those who were to get the 'free lunch'!!!

Tell me Tom, why have you chosen Greece to back up your argument? Why not Norway or one of the Scandinavian countries, or China, or Vietnam, or New Zealand? China and Vietnam are closest we have to true Marxist Socialism. The others are Social Democracys, all of which have better growth rates than Canada.
I would even argue Canada has a more socialist society than Greece. Socialism is not the cause of Greece's economic woes, it was a case of not having control over their own currency as well as an avoidance of paying taxes by society. Greeks wanted the services but were not willing to pay the cost.
And you talk of non government efficiency, tell me which is more efficient and which do you prefer, our health care system or the US free market system? In which country would you rather have your heart attack?

And the CN used to serve much more of Canada...not just the profitable routes....
In a country this large, we have to decide if we are in it as a society....or just give service's to the "elite".

Alberta had a pretty decent, low cost electrical system, and then it was privatized. We now have one of the most expensive electrical systems, although we still do have decent service.
I know which system I would have chosen....

DML, I like the way you are thinking, opens my eyes, a VERY difficult decision om Oct 19. The devil we know by the record OR the devils we imagine with answers to some issues, but clueless to others. And the consequences of socialist actions are much to be debated.

Harper is a real marketer.Let out that he charges as much as 78 thousand if you want to follow his campaign and ask him questions.Only 5 questions are allowed 1 local and 4 paid for. How much MP and Senate BS expense money made its way back into the election fund? Canada can not afford 4 more years and let him take over the Supreme Court with more appointments of you lieing piece of shit old stock Canadians.

I'm actually surprised how many progressive farmers can think the way they do.
Under no circumstances will an NDP government be good for agriculture.
Perhaps those that think it will be a good thing don't have much skin in the game??
Or perhaps they're joking to try push other people's buttons??

Not sure we are necessarily NDP supporters.....some want a change, but not sure which way to go.
Still dislike our system...so much time and energy wasted in opposing....instead of working together for common good.

So if we're not happy with the job
Harper has done as PM we "don't have much skin in the game". I guess in your opinion only farmers who approve of the job Harper has done qualify as farmers.

That's a new one!!! Quadtrac, you know many on here do not agree with each when it comes to political parties, but you my friend have hit a new low.

                    You got quite the attitude!!!

Perfecho,no conceivable result of this election will get the parties "working together for the common good"
