    Haven't posted in a while....

Happy, I am growing a little over a section of Triactor Oats. They did the best last year on my farm, seem to handle water, nice big plant. I use folicur on all of them as well which seemed to really help last year. this year added some micro's in crop which seemed to make them jump as well. so far so good!

Maybe you're right Happy, lets not
          question anything here on Agriville.

Straight from the Ag canada data for MB:

            VT500 91,000 acres 25 bpa
            L150 862,000 acres 27 bpa
            5440 592,000 acres 27 bpa
            7375 122,000 acres 30 bpa

Farmers choosing to grow varieties is an
            interesting and puzzling process.

              Good crops Klause.

I noticed you grow Souris oats, do you or aanyone
else find they yield better than Morgan? (I'm not
              familiar with Souris)

Wd9, your numbers prove that on average
yield is not even close to genetic
potential. many out there would be
better served to spend $20/ac less on
seed and put it towards fertilizer. My
best canola in the last 3 years was
                cantera 1818 for $3.50/lb.

There is more to choosing a variety than just yield. Harvestability comes to mind.

Isn't that why its an average guide and
not a yield potential guide? That's what,
                    for example, the bayer 'replicated'
trials are for. Pick the best rep and
                    publish the 'yield potential'.
