I would not grow more canola at any
price for rotation reasons. I would be
happy with 12 bucks. Heck, give me my
average yield for once, and 10 would
suffice.
As prices go up, and guys make some
money, where does the extra money
typically go?
The answer: MORE LAND AND MORE IRON.
And then 12 bucks isn't enough to be
profitable.
To each his own.
Dogpatch, you are right. The choice is
ours. We do not need to feel the barrel
of the gun. I know I sure don't, and I
am pretty sure financially at least I
have a lot more pressure than most guys
on here.
Theres lots of different crops out there. Why do we need to put so many acres into Canola anyway? If you aren't happy about the prices, products, foreigners coming into to buy your neighbors, then try something else. They likely could make some of us farm in Hawaii right?
