Unless I am misreading. You seem very narrowly focussed on an all or nothing strategy. We must all conform to one way of thinking.

You my friend seem to be in a group headed for the cliff. This all or nothing strategy put forward by this Vader guy is headed for the cliff.

Stating that your opposed to rich neighbors who have contributed to the building of this country is just plain stupid.

There are many important issues facing agriculture today and they will all have to be dealt with by the industry as a whole, not just by the political machinery. Those that would rather divert the attention away from the most important issue facing Designated Area produders seem to believe that this will make the issue go away.
You may choose to trivialize a Western Canadian grain produders individual and personal freedom but I'm sure the vast majority of farmers out there take these rights quite seriously. As far as who is leading who over the cliff, obviously the CWB is your personal pied piper and has succeeded in fitting you with their own custom fit blinders. Enjoy your misery with Ritter and company while those of us who prefer liberty and freedom move into the 21st century.

Lifer, this All or Nothing attitude you think I have??? the last time I looked there are 4 or 5 cereal grains you Could grow on the open market and 12 or 13 pulse or oilseed you Could Grow on the open market. So why not leave durum and wheat right where they are?

I took a step back , took a deep breath, and I saw clearly a bunch of idealogues chanting freedom freedom freedom ! ! and like our current Federal Gov't, are narrowly looking at only one issue and ignoring other important issues such as CGIC changes or transportation problems or fertilizer cost or price fixing by fert companies or possible joint running rights on rail lines or exorbitant packer profits or on and on and on .
Mustard, I find your thoughts a bit ironic. If we have any right to pursue rail running rights, packer profits, price fixing by fertilizer companies, high fuel prices. The first step would be to rid ourselves of the CWB monopoly. If we don't then we have no right to question the others.

Mustard your comments of 2 CWB crops vs some 12-13- Pulse and Canola etc. What you never heard of Rotation.
Sorry have the two CWB crops as fillers but getting tired when south of my place those filler crops are generating huge returns. But I do this so you can have a nice farm with no change and continue on your merry way all the way to grandmas house were some day you will be eaten by the big bad wolf (THE CWB) Real world not some fairy tale.
Check the prices your on the computer every day do you think you'll get 20 for your durum of 13 for your HRS under our current system.

no we won't get $20 but we will get 13 for this year as well as the thousands of bushels of 2006 crop that we hauled in July and sold August 1st. Which apparently is the reason our pooled price wont get higher. 1.5 million tonnes brought forward into this crop year
If you want a cereal in your rotation that not on board, how about fall rye spring rye ,canary seed , feed barley?

YOu don't hear me whining to get my peas , lentils , chickpeas or mustard under a marketing board (maybe not a bad idea though) so why do you keep telling me to get Durum away from the board ??

To me the statement you made lumping all people who argue for freedom together is telling of your mindset.

Using logic I trust you can follow. You seem to believe all people writing about freedom on this board are of one mind following Ritz. You must be opposed to their arguments for freedom.
Vader started this thread by justifying robbing from Saskfarmer to help out a less fortunate farmer.
You therefore must share this point of view and therefore share the “single desk” and protect the pool at all cost strategies by the current board.


So why not leave durum and wheat right where they are? I would have been okay with this a little longer if Malt Barley marketing was handled better.


I’m not clear what packer profits have to do with growing wheat. How does changing the way wheat is sold in the country stand in the way of improving packer profits if that is what you think is needed?

Come to think of it in Re reading the post why isn’t Vader's neighbor getting $2,100,000 instead of $1,750,000 from Vader’s own numbers.
