Lots of mushrooms. Am I the only guy picking them?

I think my Baba called them Papanka mushrooms. They usually grew on old rotted logs and wet forest floors. Not sure if these are the same ones u are picking freewheat.

Talked to a guy yesterday said he was making $200 day picking Morels.
I think the buyers are paying $4.50-$5.50 a pound.
      That's a lot of mushrooms!

My grandma use to come from Regina to the farm and go pick them when I was a youngster. Then take butter and cream and make a gravey to put on perogies. Not the healthiest but hey her and her sisters all made it to just under a 100 years old or 100 so maybe it's the fountain of youth!

My mom knew the safe ones to pick. Sadly, she died without passing on the knowledge.

I'm freaked out about poisonous ones. Watched Clint Eastwood in "The Beguiled" too many times.

I know the Orange tops with sponge bottom are good and crinkly brown ones. It's the pedpanky ones where I could get burned, the tall, skinny ones. That's mushrooms, I'm talking.

What a happy bunch, and all talking mushrooms!!

9" of rain. 7 days of cloud. A well rotted manure base. It makes for a lousy harvest, unless it's mushrooms.

You nailed it checking. Between the rains I have been trying to cut, rake and bale hay, so there has been plenty of time to stop when I see a shroom from the tractor. Bout the only thing can be harvested these days.
