Tom here is a question I put out to you. If your area freezes next Monday and a hard freeze how well will you do marketing your shit crop. You will have to buy out contracts etc. Just saying mother nature is a bitch and she is not done with Alberta with a few showers.
Education Yes More education is better I do agree on that.
But the games in Canada is Bull shit.
I had to be sacrificed in 2014 so Grain could be moved in Alberta to help CP and CN look Good.
I got nothing back from this shit show.

      SF3,

IF it froze... we would still have grain to fill contracts... at lower quality granted.

In Fact from what I have seen... John's program may be less risky overall because it is less DDC and more futures/Spreads based...

Therefore not understanding the point here... other than learning new skills is not a bad idea!

      Cheers!

Tom can sell frozen wheat as seed. The risk is gone.

He's a bit like chretien - talks out of both sides of his mouth but only one half moved. All the while you knew he was only in it for himself. You can throw harper in the same class as well.

Tom on that comment your full of shit. From 2002 we binned and used that seed for a lot of years. Elevators said they would pay us F#$K all for it because it was poor. Funny best germinating and produced awesome crops in 2003 and then the 2004 frost we did the same.
Sorry man your not telling the whole story.

Yep sf3, tom is full of it.

I remember buying certified ac barrie wheat. I took a sample to the elevator and they said it was frozen and wouldn't make a feed grade.

But it was certified seed so I grew it and it turned out ok.

You sell certified seed , right Tom? You know the ins and outs of making poor grain certified? It's probably why you can quote scriptures so well as you ask forgiveness every Sunday. Lol.

When you are the preacher, bucket, you don't have to wait until Sunday to forgive yourself. It's why Tom can respond immediately. Not laughing.

                  Couple things...
                  1) for new crop, there are still 12 months to market it! Leaving PLENTY of time to take advantage of a rally or two.
                  2) a "drought ravaged" crop in western canada, on its own, has little if any impact whatsoever on the world market. It never has and never will!

                  My two cents.

Which will provide ample opportunity later in the marketing year when final #s start coming in.
