They do not even serve GMO's in Monsanto cafeterias. Great business model create the cancer and disease with GMO's then sell the pharmaceuticals to treat the problem. Here's the link to the CBC article.

One other thing I love the cover shot of the video at the top. Designed to make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside with wholesome imagery and children. But all I see is a dude on the left holding the frankencorn 'Like wtf is this shit? Looks like corn but tastes like cardboard. It doesn't even weigh up the same' Then there is mom who ate a cob about 20 minutes earlier and just uncontrollably shat her pants because all her gut bacteria is now dead. The little girl is thinking about tossing it cause she just knows its fake. Then there is grandpa out back almost in tears cause he doesn't know how he is going to pay his outrageous GM seed bill.

If I could switch to organic today I would in a heartbeat. But the input providers bank have me so locked in. I can't not seed for the three years or what ever it is to be certified.
More and more I see even glyphosate which was supposed to be drinkable appears to be a cancer causing problem not to mention a soil sterilant.

I honestly feel guilty spraying all these chemicals.
          Jmo.

Interesting stat on that. It would take 2278 litres of milk per day of ALL accumulated carcinogens.

Yep, and if i drank coca cola ( with the old aspartame sweetener ) i would only have to drink 388 cans a day, for who knows how long, and i may get cancer.

Tweety is used to get worked up now I just see dollar signs. Riders, it's not 3 years with no crop. Here's what you do...Plant winter wheat, load it up with fert and residual herbicide to keep the weeds down. 2nd year grow lentils, plow them in. 3rd year your growing $40/bu organic flax. Wam bam you're part of the scam.

Biotech is a breeding method proven to be safe. There is yet to be a legitimate study proving otherwise, because of the rigourous science that goes into developing GM traits and mmaking sure they are safe.
The problem with the 97% of scientists believe in global warming claim use it to mislead us into lobbying polictiians to make bad policy decisions. Who are the scientists, and what do they believe, and what is the best course of action (policy)? Even if the majority of the 97% were climate scientists, we are not told what that 97% figure actually means. If 97% of scientists believe we are having some effect on climate, that's not surprising. There are many human activities besides CO2 production (eg. deforestation) that affect climate, but many of these activities happen in places where environmentalists have no influence. I have no doubt that we have some influence on the climate, but I am definitely skeptical that CO2 production is the only or even the most significant human activity.
If you phrased the question "do you think that our raising CO2 levels in the atmosphere by 1 part in 20,000 (like what has happened in the last hundred years) will create catastrophic global warming?, I would guess that the same scientists would answer 97% No. The problem is that many of the rent seeking parasitical scientists that rely on grants to "study" the "problem" twist the 97% agreement with the first question into meaning that there is a "consensus" of agreement to the 2nd question.

Guilting rich countries into supporting their causes is a far easier especially when they're able to misrepresent science. Its all about getting people to either directly support them, or getting politicians to use tax dollars to support them.

I have confidence that sound science will prevail in the longrun, but fear in the meantime that we'll waste of large amounts of our resources tilting at windmills both literally and figuratively.

In my opinion...(and yes biglentil..i recall your asshole comment)...GMOs themselves are not the problem. As was mentioned here there a million ways to affect a genome and plant breeding or GMO are not materially different.

The problem comes when chemical resistance is the genetic modification. Then suddenly the use of chemicals like glyphosate explodes until they are shipping it out in tanker trucks. Spray it before seeding, spray it after seeding, spray it in crop and spray it days before harvest just for good measure.

Nobody here would drink the chemicals we use, yet we spray them liberally on the food we produce...it is not good but its the way the system works right now.

The idea of going organic is nice but i have never heard of a 20,000 acre organic farm and i doubt the model can work on that scale. Just too hands on. Its easier to spray at 20 mph with 120ft booms than it is to pull weeds by hand.

one final thought is that if the Pro-GMO guys want to improve their marketability, they should rebrand from GMO to PFP (Perfected Food Product) or something similar. It worked for the Global Warming guys re-branding as Climate Change!

Think pesticide free production was tried a few years ago but organic movement and promoters sort of overwhelmed it.
Think it involved not using some products on growing crops.

And I repeat, " I am not fond of eating bread made from wheat that has been Rounded Up, just prior to combining." Founded or unfounded, just saying. Thanx but no thanx.
