Yes he did have our area for excess rain. First we didn't believe and tried to get every acre seeded and then the floods did take huge acreage last year with the 8 inch rain this week coming up. But he is more bang on than any thing out their.
Were at the edge this year of nice rains and missing the odd shower.

Glad we continued our fertility program - 60-70% at seeding , and top up as needed . May not need anymore now .

Last year he said it was supposed to be dry. I didn't grow any canola. Sure wish I would have last year

No reality check required at my end. If you want to put all your marbles in what you seed each year, based on a long range weather forecaster go right ahead. Next time if Drew says it's going to be wet for your area, plant wild rice. Are you telling me that Drew has some magic formula for predicting long range weather no one else has?

Tom you don't believe in climate change but in a long range weather forecaster. You contradict yourself with every post you make.

Oh ya, who's the one on the so call hunger strike? Now that's reality at it's finest form!!!

Most advertised drought in history and few listened. You don't have to change rotations but lots of things one can do to protect the bottom line. Buy max crop ins, keep some old crop, don't forward price, get long canola futures. Was a no brainer this year.

God help you if you plan listening to the weatherman!

What's next, Gwenerva's psychic hotline on grain prices?

Each to there own I suppose. Weather forecasting is much better than it used to be. Paid handsomely to listen this year.

Not everyone in western canada is having a drought.

I read Drew. I planted as normal.
Perhaps one factor in my decision to turn down a larger, very expensive cash rent property.

Drew even predicted the late late season frost event for our area.

We do take his forecasts into consideration, but there are other factors. The early canola on our farm that froze out was planted early because it's land that if it gets wet can be a challenge to get on, and there was a big rain in the forecast.
