Somehow you people conveniently forget the regulation by the @#$%& PC government where the power over your land and property was in the hands of the dictatorial Cabinet with NO JUDICIAL oversight. I guess that was okay though...that wasn't the NDP.

You're squawking already and there have been NO changes in law...just discussions of possible changes in Labour regulations to correct some current exemptions granted to Agriculture.

They have been in power for a couple of months as compared to your PC's who were 44 years. Haven't even given them a chance. The voter's of Alberta have just spoken. The recent poll indicates the Premier has a 53% approval rating, second highest in Canada. You all sound like a bunch of whiners to say the least. Is it any wonder a lot of fellow Canadians call us farmers whiners

Of coarse the biggest whiner of all is TOM4CWB, no surprise there!!!

That's all he ever does is bitch and complain, never statisfied, but yet wants everybody else to be happy and cheery.

These decisions were made before the current gov was elected.....but if you are against them, everything will be their fault........

Same in saskatchewan. Wall can take credit for the potash expansion but **** you guys think they were not talking prior to wall winning?

He might have used some incentives to finalize the deal but he shouldn't take all the credit.

Otherwise he has to own the pending disaster in saskatchewan as well. I don't think his shoulders are that big. He will sluff it off to mother nature. Same with harper.

i have no idea what was or was not in the works
            before the election.

and there is always a danger that do-gooders , can mess things up and cost everyone $.

            but

it is not like the federal conservatives have not
cost farmers billions in the railway mess.
and millions more future seed costs by bowing to their corporate masters dictates.

and in Alberta. provincially squandering or never collecting multi billions in oil revenue.

the new guys ,will have to screw up a whole lot for a long time to get anywhere close.

We have had coverage for our employees for 30 years. it is voluntary.costs very little. We wouldnt be without it.We felt we would feel responsible if someone got hurt.

A person would have to be nuts to have a permanent employee working for them and not pay WCB. 2 times one of our employees took time off to recover from some minor injuries. WCB covered. Remember, your farm is one lawsuit away from bankruptcy.

Why should farms be exempt from anything? Especially labour laws

                    Tweety,

As with DOT... this becomes about making wages and filling quotas... not about safety.

If we complain; the new world order says we are a target.

If we treat workers badly... we don't have workers as they can go to industry and get a job in a heart beat.

Some good workers on our farms liked the farm work... because in general the exemption of political BS of regs for the sake of gov regulation... was in the past an advantage to everyone especially the worker in particular.

But logic isn't a part of this... and least of all common sense and getting the job done right and safe.

                    Over and Out.

I assume this will apply to colonies also?
