CBC uses it too. News first and foremost number one objective is advertising. Its not the news. Just like mcdonalds primary goal is real estate.

Using browsers like firefox, turning off location services, cookie destructors and using ad blockers with a good vpn and you'll never see any of that again.

The only appropriate use for the Internet is porn and gambling.

I don't know if I really care if they monitor me. I am not a criminal (I think) and have nothing to hide (I think) so monitor away. If I was worried I sould be because its obvious ads are placed according to your searches. Are we that gullible that we make decisions based only on what is presented to us?

I'm going to go listen to Anne Murray's Snowbird backwards now, surely there is some evil subliminal message there that fits my sinister personality.

Until I am "singled" out who cares?

And that is what companies bank on.

                Public ignorance.

Most of us on here are old enough to realize the privacy issues exist. But the younger crowd?
I googled a firm twice for the address and drove there twice. For weeks the owner, whose name was in the firms title, topped a list on my Facebook. I might own shares but I don't like the costant hidden privacy breaches.

Ado, you can't tell me you're not using the internet to see what gets discovered at 13 TeV tomorrow in the LHC!

Nope but I might check out the latest modern art a college girl created with a smartphone and a mirror.
