Minus one last night at 6:30 am. Wind chill minus three. Saved by cloud cover that moved in. Lets see what tonight brings...

it seems like a more normal spring,
          like the old days.
lots of wind , lots of clouds
          and no rain.
          cold too
but it is early yet. one of those years where the geese pit in for a month. and eat the peas out of the seed row.
what, are they that picky, that they want fresh ones.
lots of pea stubble they could browse.

the weather is cooperating with my less than stellar seeding pace.

as for glyphosate . seems to kill
at just about any temp as far as i have seen.

Did many times years ago why spray afield twice. Some times it works some times it's a total f$&k up. I'll let the sprayer sit. Minus three or lower in Regina.

Here is the 'Monsanto' information on frost:
                "TECHNICAL BULLETIN
Herbicide Efficacy in Cold and Wet Conditions
                03/31/2015..."

                "SUMMARY
                - The optimal temperature range for spraying Roundup brand agricultural herbicide products is 16-24 degrees. ·
                - A frost of 0°C to -3°C will not usually harm the target weeds and spraying can resume later in the day if temperatures are forecast to reach 8 or more for at least 2 hours after application. ·
                - Heavier frost (< -5°C) can cause more severe damage to target weeds so spraying should be avoided for 1-2 days to assess any injury. Spraying can resume when at least 60% of the plant is still green and actively growing, and daytime temperatures are forecast to reach 8°C or more for at least 2 hour after application."
