Eating high sodium high fat calorie low nutrition body destroying tacos from Chipotle are safe now because they don't contain GMO.

And you thought marketing was ineffective!

I wish a restaurant chain would do something progressive for once. Instead of caving to the backward scare-mongers, they should embrace advancements in food production. Taking a step further, by explaining how and why the crops and livestock are raised.
Like free range, organic, gluten free, non gmo chickens may appeal to some people but even the organic chicken farmer isn't going to be too excited about showing his customers a video from the slaughterhouse.
There's a reason for everything that's done to or applied to every animal and crop. It's not always pretty but theres a good reason.

Eventually, regarding food etc. People eat what makes them feel good. Fat, sugar, or "ethically raised". This issue has been coming at us for a long time. I have no solutions tactics other than information.
But it's going to get worse. Last week I was informed that all the spraying we're doing has as large or larger carbon footprint than min or conventional till. Especially as the chemicals are all carbon based.
Then I watch the news and all the shit in the rest of the world, and I look forward to retiring. Hypocrisy is right.

More stupid consumers who don't know whats good for them... Too bad everyone couldn't just shut up and enjoy what you're shoving down their throats.

Mis informed and lied to, is not stupidity. It is innocent ignorance of science and facts. All because farmers have a tiny voice.

Someone mentioned that monsanto should be stepping up for farmers.

Do you really think with the reputation that monsanto has with the average consumer, that they will listen to them?

No, pourfarmer, it is not stupidity, it is about who has the biggest emotional impact and fear, in a land where 99% of the people live in paved areas, and have not been on a farm for a generation.

If people want to eat like their great grandparents maybe they should try living like them too. Buy a patch of dirt, grow and raise all your own food. Buy some sealers, stay home all summer and tend to your food. It's a free country. I am not against choice.

Anyone eat in a non GMO, organic only restaruant? Any mainstream ones? Any on the Prairies? I could see them in BC or Eastern Canada, which is ok. To each their own.

I think each farmer who posted on this thread should indulge me in an experiment.

In the month of May, sit down with six different women In restaurants. Stores. gas stations. Etc. ask her what kinds of food she likes to buy. Ask her what kind of food she likes to avoid.

Don't peach. Don't scare her. Don't whine. Don't tell her how stupid she is.

                  Just listen.

You are on a public form., AV, publicly complaining how stupid the people are , who buy food, which you produce.

That's not, I repeat, not, a good business practice.

Let's discuss your results in June. Who knows, hopper might just meet a gorgeous woman, with hormones in full throttle, who likes farmers and food.

                  Pars.

Farmaholic has a very good point. Many small town Sask people have gardens and preserve their own produce. Thats as close to the land as you can get.
This requires time, effort and work. The younger generation want to use their personal time doing other things than working in a garden.
I despise gardening because i spent many long hot summer days in a big garden, weeding, hilling, picking , processing. Canning blanching. The garden was the obstacle from any fun and recreating. We ate very well, but i sure did not acquire a love for gardening.
