Geez Sumdumguy, I don't know if I'd feel comfortable seeding quite yet in this corner of Sask. April 21? Earliest we ever seeded was about April 27 and the canola came up and froze. Depending how many acres people have to cover, maybe they have to get at it?

Lentils can go in pretty early, then you can cut end of July and combine nice #1s before the mid August rains. Seems about August 25, it starts to cool off and the skies open up, sometimes right after the frost.

Funny , other day we were talking is eventually crop insurance going to have to start putting a sowing start date on for insured crops like they have a deadline date? You have to admit with the larger farms and having to get at it as early as possible, where the **** can the line be drawn?

Ah got it. LA sask home of Chico I thinks!
then both the B and K have started.

Starting to early has its problems to. our earliest was the 20th once. Worst crop ever. See second week of may it got cold real cold snowy kind of cold and well lets just say the canola got its ears froze off.
Ah farming one year is different than the next. But boy is it fun to be outside in all of April with a Bunny Hug (yes I said it) Drinking Vico and sipping on a mickey shooting beavers.
