If it would actually do some good then yes. But a tax is a tax is a tax. This is a tax on all.

The real story is they want to get rid of the Senate.
The real story is Harper has lousy advisors in this case and this will come back to bite them, only because the real story is until the Senate is gone use some aspect of principle & integrity (which was the original intent of the house) when appointing to the Senate add this one AND pick real people who live in the province they are appointed to represent.

The real story is what goes around comes around.

Perfecho your probabably right it wasn't intentional. Although maybe they are using Rahms rule

"You never let a serious crisis go to waste."

Trying to come up with a positive. Although like I said nothing will change long term unless the East gets with the program. That's unlikely. It's not only Senators that feel entitled to their entitlements.

I used to think getting rid of the Senate would be a good idea.

But considering the dumb ass things parliament has done someone has to look over them. The electorate won't do it.

The Senate needs to be revamped, maybe elected to be accountable.

If Duffy had been elected he would have been booted with a whisper of this nonsense. This story is just a long distraction, someone has to dig deeper.

"The real story is Harper has lousy advisors in this case"

Ya right, Harper uses the PMO to control everyone in that Con party, which means the MPs all the way to the mail room clerk.

Harper, knew Duffy could help win the 2011 election and used it to his every advantage.

Please don't pass the blame onto others that's Harper's MO

The conservatives have had enough time at this. And falling into the same thing the liberals did so well.

Corruption and lack of better judgement.

Sadly it's tough to know who would replace them without doing the same thing.

Ending the senate would put all the power into who ever is in charge of the country. Imagine a treadue with that. They stink on the surface and maybe it wouldn't matter anyway but the founding fathers had the brains to break up control down south.

Plus this is all playing out like some timely movie script.

So really, the only way to solve is to "reboot" every term.....
Still like the idea of no parties...just independents, but I know that will never fly!
