    Not sure if it had anything to do with it..But Hodgins was in "Politics" a few yrs ago..

          I believe Grant Hodgins quit the the Devine government when it reached its "stupid phase" near the end of its tenure. I always respected him for that.

            Schapansky took over a lot of the auction market share.
            Main reason is Schapansky never implemented buyer fees.

              I think at one time there was a gentleman's agreement that Ritchie wouldn't do yard sales in SK and Hodgins would leave AB alone. Somewhere along the way someone stopped being a gentleman. My first recollection of a Ritchie sale in SK was Reg Bartsch north of Saskatoon but there were likely some before that one.

              It also appeared that a lot of the fire went out of Hodgins' belly when Billy died. My favorite Billy expression was "You came here to buy - I came here to sell. I'll tell you when you're too high"
