Valk, you must have your grain sold and shipped or maybe you don't farm? This is a great productive nation and it's being strangled, IMHO. Government has the power to fix- but chooses to go and run around the world "fixing" a problem that will never be fixed. Sorry, but you don't make the rules on AV. Or have you bought it?

But would this be happening in the middle east, if the US hadn't interfered to begin with?

So if Harper is mad at Putin for Invading Ukraine (called it fighting terrorism)
Then how can he go in Iraq and Syria against Nato wishes. WHAT is the Difference between the two scenarios ???

Canada will not be taking over the country .. just shooting a few bad guys. Russia took Crimea over (whether the people choose to join or not is debatable) ... Big diff I would think.
Maybe with global warming Putin just wanted more beach frontage eh Mustard??

And if this war on terror is all about protecting the innocent, why are we now taking the fight to Syria, a country in which the government has used chemical weapons against its own people, instead of say protecting African villagers against Boko Haram, which is a self proclaimed ISIS affiliate?

ISIS in Syria... Terrorists who need to be stopped at any cost.

ISIS in Africa (affiliate) .. Ignored.

What's the difference? They are all madmen who are corrupting religion in order to give themselves a reason to murder innocents.

The difference is money. Aka oil. Follow the money. What is happening in Africa is horrific, and no one does a thing.

Our PM has always been a wannabe American imho, and is doing his best to follow their lead. When you decide you are going to take up a fight with nutcases who's main goal in life is to die while trying to kill you, you had better be prepared to follow through and finish the job. There is no easy way out of this mess.

                  Just sayin'....

Western nations cant solve this with war. Instead we need an iron curtain placed around these nations, severe sanctions, restrict trade and travel, no one gets out. Let them fight it out themselves. Kinda of like trapping rats and let them deal with each other.
