Any thing that can go wrong will go wrong, and it does.... oh dear, cars never showed up for 6 weeks, now another excuse since "it's NOT too cold"!
Demurage is easy to pass on to simple farmers, they will never figure it out buried in the "BASIS" any way, they just spare back and forth, it's too complex for the uneducated to understand...

Farmaholic, the Gov't should act soon to end this or impose binding arbitration.

Our canola is crusher bound, we're covered till May.

No coverage left on wheat though. No one has picked up our basis offers yet. Til they do, wheat stays home anyway.

Agreed. Open running rights? I hate being held hostage. We aren't the only shippers. I doubt the government will let them be out for long.

Conversation at the BOD table next meeting:

Okay, how do we handle this extra cost in increased wages? Charge the Shippers more or pay less dividends to shareholders?

Hunter; how about both, then higher "compensation" to us because we're so ****ing smart.

One thing for sure grain should get priority. At least we pay a profit no matter what.

Any chance the cheap fuel will get back to shipping rates?
