Heard Quite a few not happy with response when things go south. These brokers get too close to the buyers only so many buyers lots of sellers so if you don t like them as a seller they don t give a dam.
One guy never got paid for some peas on time when the seller contacted these guys he was told your being unreasonable. When contract says your to be paid Monday you should get paid Monday. This was after they didn't take delivery for a month after the specified time of which the peas then went up 2 bucks a bushel. If they don t buy on time and price goes up they should be responsible. The only reason seller agrees to sell at that time at that price was because they needed cash but ended up waiting anyway.

Sort of acts like some kinda industry spokesman always telling everybody how much big supply out there. I think they should just stick to their own business unless their business is to lower grain prices. But what do I know I m only a db farmer.

I'll sum up my experience with Johnson's by borrowing a line that was used on here some time ago." Toilet paper has more value than a Johnson contract". From my experience they are not a nice company to deal with and their word don't seem to have much value either! Be very carefull with Johnson and their end use companies!!

Three charts for you with the question as too how the inverse/spreads are likely to unfold in the future. A least one will disagree but I think this market has potential to move to carry. This doesn't necessarily mean a rally in the new crop/November but rather eroding prices in old crop/not the same level of premiums in the nearby as we approach May/July delivery months.

Have used Johnston's numerous times for a number of years to broker grain sales with domestic and international buyers and all experience has been mainly positive. When delays in delivery have occurred they have worked hard on our behalf to mediate alternatives. I do find though that their posted prices are sometimes unrealistic and they neglect to update there website as a ploy for producers to call them only to find out that those price levels are no longer achievable.

I don't grow or sell Canola but why are guys worried about $10 in Canada when you can get $15.25 fx (about $3) so over $18. Just across the line at Berthold ND. farmers elev.

Wmoebis, ND prices for canola are usually quoted in per cwt.

Without checking I believe that's for 100 pounds worth.

                      Spread charts
                      May/July and May/Nov
Potential for higher prices has been kicked down the road.
