Grassfarmer, farmers don't have the "right" to retain seed. Never did. Never will. Its the property of the holder and full rights are theirs and theirs alone.

You have a privilege to retain seed - only if the holder lets you.

Would have thought by now farmers understood that but apparently the myth lives on.

I am sure I will of all the good work they do or have done upon joining.

I just want the number of actual farmers they represent.

Just curious why you want this discussion in a public forum? Why won't you contact one of the WCWGA directors and ask them for the information?

WCWGA contact info

I would note that the directors on the WCWGA are relatively young (at least to a 62 year old) and represent farmers in the growing stage of their business. I might also ask both the policies and where they are represented on different forums/policy development initiatives. You may disagree with the organization but you always know where they stand.

Left messages for the current president to call me months ago.

I think it's been long enough.

Besides half the directors are here on a regular basis like a coffee shop.

Don't want an open honest discussion ?

It's a pretty simple question that has a long discussion. JFC.

I joined when it felt like the only thing a minion could do regarding the bd. I'm sure there are many members that don't go to the AGM.
Seems like a smaller group of fairly young , progressive guys at the controls. Maybe a little cliquey, they could do a better job of telling us who and what they are. Or maybe it's easier to get things done without too much attention.
To my knowledge not one member has embarrassed him self publicly as well as Terry Boehme has.
We could all use a little education on the inner workings of govt and how to get things done in that environment. People have no idea. These young guys have spent a hell of a lot of their time and own money to get a seat at the table for our industry in general.
And now they're the new boogeyman. I challenge everyone to find out for themselves. Sadly, on the other hand I will be a hypocrite and not find out any more about the NFU than I already know.

Why is the number important to you?

It's really not but shows the difficulty of getting something done.

Silence speaks volumes.

It's more about what they don't say sometimes than what they do.

Tom thinks it's a state of mind.

It's a fair question. Try contacting Blair Rutter.
