You are right. At this point history. We have moved on.

I don't see local cash prices posted on the North Dakota Wheat Commission site. Most of the grain companies down there have good websites with prices. USDA also does surveys for the Posted County Prices (would have to find again). Have posted links for the Montana Wheat and Barley Committee in the past.

Alberta Wheat Commission posts weekly prices.

You are right, but they comment on trends and in order to do that they have the info to make trend comments.

Whether it be about price, quality and quanitity.

They are a reliable and transparent source. That is my point.

Most of the information you are asking for is available. No one has sorted out and provided a summary page. The three prairie provinces all have weekly statistical summaries.

In Canada, we have left a lot of this for private services to package and distribute. Larry Weber, Mike Jubinville, Greg Kostal, Farm Link, CWB, etc., etc. Is this a service you want your commissions to provide?

Wheat prices are a challenge. Lots of discussion among both government and industry.

The CGC has posted information on this years quality for what it is worth.

I like tracking the weekly CGC report and the grades given to the stocks as they are received at the terminals.

Here is a chart of the first 14 weeks.
#1 CWRS down sharply. #2 still catches most of it and is trending higher as is #3 and CW Feed.
This represents CWRS wheat that is mostly for export and feed which I think can be any class of wheat. The local prairie markets will take a lot of the feed as usual.

You will have to let me know how to post charts. I do lots of charts I could put on here but don't know how.

Charlie, if your chart is posted anywhere on the web just hot link it. If it is only on your computer than it becomes a lot more work. Gotta go. Will post tonight or maybe someone who likely is more computer savvy than me can wade in.

From what I've seen those new vert tillage things would be the cats ass for organic production! speed up the tillage process, incorporate matter easily, chew through anything basically, plus they are very accurate on depth control which would be helpful if you only wanted to work the top inch of soil without disturbing anything else. I'll let you know in about 20 years when there's some old worn out ones on the market that I can afford.

It is interesting to see the (almost)lockstep decline in totals(of all receipts) and receipts of #1, then the increase of #2 and the marginal increase in #3 and Feed.

Going forward it will be interesting to see if there is a huge increase in (especially)#3 and Feed since there is supposedly allot of the Western Canadian crop that didn't make the top two grades.

I posted my specs on a different thread, I am not taking feed price for that wheat, one spec says it is but many others says it isn't!!!

                  Nice chart farming101

Basically what I said was it is interesting to see the almost lockstep decline in total receipts for all grades and #1. An increase for #2 and a marginal increase for #3 and Feed. Given we are told allot of the Western Canadian crop didn't make the top two grades, it will be interesting to see if receipts will significantly increase going forward for (especially)#3 and Feed.

I posted my specs on a different thread, I am not taking feed price for that wheat. One spec says it's feed but more say it isn't.
