In the states maybe. In Canada definitely not.

Ritz and Raitt folded like cheap suits on this file.

fjlip, I've stated in the past don't expect everyone to operate on the same set of morals and beliefs as yourself (what ever they may be).

And I think there are few morals in business/commerce when "profit at any cost" is the only goal. I used to be naive enough to beleive that if I treat people fairly, honestly, and respectfully they would reciprocate. Old too soon, smart too late.

I received my nightly call from the Conservatives - need support-Justie gonna kick our asses. You been such a great supporter so come on.

I told her no support here for party that turned their back on the West, gutted every ag program, reduced every service to farmers, now folded on grain transport issue. Told her go to CN and CP, see how many votes you can get from them.

Have had good and bad experience with people and systems whether run by governments or private enterprise.
Generally good with both and confess bad ones were usually partly my own fault or negligence.
Looking at big picture, prefer a free market economy to a command or over regulated one.

I prefer a responsive government, not one that hides for years until there is an election, then you are a valuable supporter.

Can anyone tell me the difference between the railways operating only in nice weather and the OIC that was only in place during nice weather?

Sumdumguy, you must have 'given' in the past to the Cons if they keep asking... yet I've heard you praise Goodale and the Liberals. Nothing saying people can't change their minds and agree with some of the comments here.

The big C's probably won't call here again now. They are dialing the railroads number now. Goodale is in my constituency. Can't say that the Liberals were bad government. Remember they left the coffers overflowing and farm programs were flush with cash. They responded. Too bad they didn't reform the CWB when the crow left. Opportunity missed.

In the old days the "general" was the man leading the char ge in a battle; the captain of the ship was the last one to leave a sinking ship and the hero was the man who put himself in danger in order to try to save someone in trouble. Especially so for women and those less able to protect themselves.

But seems pretty easy to spin that to deflect attention in other ways.

Things have evolved; and protecting women and children is probably secondary nowadays. It may even be most about self preservation coming first.
