Good call cottnpicken. It'll take days to sift through
this. The one thing that jumped out at me was the
half billion for Chrysler, eh, pardon me? Actually,
not sure if this is even a budget. If our economy is
flatlined and there is no stimulus, either through
spending or strategic tax re-alloctation then there
is a potential downside and I think Harper may be
gambling on a magic bullet for 2015. And of
course, nothing for Ag - "Marketing Freedom"
solved all that. BTW, Mbdog is a Con party plant -
something they're doing all over the place to
influence and guide discussion on social media.

There is a thing called an index and you can quickly find the agricultural section, pages 148-151. Nearly everything there has already been introduced previously and is simply regurgitation, such as growing forward 2, and modernization of seed regs (upov).
Yes, there is a new livestock insurance program but it is simply an income deferral program that is simpler to what has been introduced as needed in the past and there are no details if farmers are going to have to pay a premium now. The other news which will apply to very few farmers is new regs for craft beer brewing.

If anyone finds other ag info elsewhere in the budget I would welcome their input.

Capital gains exsemption raised to 800k,indexed to
        inflation.

Scary stuff on oil around page 24,looks like they are
preparing us for a disconnect between international
        and domesic price.

roskpile...what can I say to that other than you're just plain stupid.

The budget was good because there was nothing special, no goodies, just the perception that things are steady and moving in the right direction. I don't sit there waiting for handouts like some people. The headlines are enough and have the broadest effect. Stale, boring, hand on the rudder goes along way to building investment confidence.

If you want to read the 300 pages ....go right ahead, The same pages are read and analyzed but a host of people reporting from all political stripes....and they all conclude within 1/2 hour, there is nothing major here. Steady as she goes is good enough for me.

have Taken $ 58 Billion (that's Billion ) from Ei
that was paid in by workers to help balance the
            budget

Well mbdog, I am just plain stupid I guess. I see no
plan, no vision, no innovation and no leadership.
Deficit for Federal initiatives downloading the cost
to Provinces. And onto your credit card. Middle
class , the driver of a consumptive economy
ignored, while bragging lowest corporate tax rate in
G-7, which has done nothing but caused takeovers
and bleed outs to foreign interests and investors
(CP Rail a good example) and leaving nothing
behind. All about looking good in 2015, no interest
in good Governance and responsibility. BTW, my
Con plant, I don't advocate for higher taxes, there's
enough money on the table already, just needs to
be invested wisely. Oh and did I mention the shit
kicking our armed forces took? Rumour has it that
next year the Snowbirds will be displaying the most
awesome kite show ever seen across the country.

15444- since the first time I earned my franchise to
vote, I may not vote at all. It might be a non vote
protest. Before Justin gets my nod, he has a lot to
prove. Nice hair just doesn't quite cut it!

rockpile....which in turn is downloaded on the municipalities, which in turn is downloaded, to a large part, on agriculture industry and the producers of this country.

Do you make a connection between this and the lack of producers or interest in becoming a producer, or the declining tax base in a lot of western Canada. Do you make a connection at all with where and what the 4.1 million dollars in freight charges that was taken from our area was spent on or supporting?...how much went to entitlements????? No new/rolling back entitlements is good news for business.
This was a good budget as presented, and good for ag investment
