I don't agree with most here, quack, foxtail, any type of thisle and dandelion need spraying pre harvest for total control, post harvest will get partial control and the more frosts the less control. Winter anuals on the other hand become quite frost tollerant and keep growing at low temps even sub zero some germinate after a pre harvest application, so I would do it for the winter anual control up to end of Oct. Tuff to control them in the spring. And if you think you don't see any now you will in the spring if unsprayed.

I agree with you Hopper regarding perennials. Riders, if they aren't that bad and can stand to look at them poking out above your peas, spray them preharvest and you will probably be alot happier with the results. In the fields we regloned(keeping for seed) and then sprayed the thistle regrowth(with glyphosate), the results will be questionable. It is quite dry here and the regrowth wasn't spectacular, they were there but the target was quite small. What ever you decide--good luck.
