The most I ever offer these investors is
    $30/ac, I don't farm any because of
that. The trouble is that someone is
always willing to to sell their soul to
farm another quarter. I really get a
kick out of those crusty old turds that
bitch about the community going to hell
and there being no young people, low RM
services but turn down 2.5X assessment
from the neighbor kid because some
    investor mentioned 3X in passing.

Ado, it happens here all the time. Then the crusty
old turds, claim to feel sorry for young farmers
because they are having such a hard time. It very
discouraging. Then again, if I want to compete, I
have to write the cheque. So far I have not
reached to the expensive land.. Oh well, a person
can set their sights on a deflated house in they
      city!

When I was starting was buying a Quarter from an older couple and they could get 33 times from Land Bank and if I wanted it I had to match. Good on the seller for getting as much as he could but shame on the NDP government for bidding it up.

But in all three cases the farmer selling gets
screwed, the only winner is real estate and land
company till us farmers quit renting then the
          house of cards falls.

Canola seed keeps going up and farmers keep buying .Me think farmers will also keep renting with higher rents. If rent is too high for you then rent your land to someone else.

Agree with newguy. I am always watching both
sides. A person can easily rent out. You can pay
60-90/acre but you can also.collect that as well.
Then you can sit in coffee shop in am and pub
in pm and talk about how the farmers are doing
it wrong. Lots of those guys around here. Same
old crusty turds smarter than the room!

Why is it always the rent to high? Mabey if the rentor let the rente sit in a nice shiny new combine or tractor for a while they wouldnt think rent was so high. I guess its what side you set on.
Who put land so high in the first place mabey those who want to look like the Huderites?

When all you progresive farmers target a 50/60 bu canola crop at 13/14 perbu expecting to make 500 profit per acre I realy dont think you have anything to bitch about.

You three don't get farming. Why the f$&k would I
rent land from a land company. Why not buy it..

Also why rent land on a 160 acre basis if their is
only 130 acres available to farm. Why pay for
water and trees, sloughs don't make me money.

Have you ever paid a more for land because he was a neighbour. I bet not. So if you can not pay going price for rent or buying do not expect a good neighbour to be Santa Clause to you.
