I will accept responsibility for starting this. I compared the Viterra prices with Johnston's. The only problem was Johnston's were incorrectly quoted on his "Daily". Some people took the time to verify the info for themselves. After I called this morning I too found out this was a bid for malt delivered into the US(but posted as a feed price). My apologies....I used incorrect information.

farmaholic, no reason for you to apologize. This is Johnston's M.O. always has been. He continually is "making a mistake" on his page (hey it get's calls coming in) There is a reason he has lost all credibility in the grain industry. Like I also mentioned before, nothing against him, i phone him from time to time and competition is always a good thing.

Yes, honest mistakes along the way to reel
transparency and benchmarking. Then up on
delivery, we'll see the dishonest mistakes
ta steel the grain from Comedian framers!
Yup its gonna be excitin fer sure, butt we
          apparently want some excitement in
          Comedian Gag, don't we?

At least there are prices to start making decisions on. If a price seems too good to be true, it is quite easy to confirm whether its true by just phoning the company. I don't think I would be jumping on these prices yet until all the major companies are offering and world grain fundamentals become more apparent. Will also be interesting to see how changes to ICE barley futures/the new reality impact feed barley futures trading volumes. an individual manager decision however based on your business needs.

                yup, confusion and uncertainty help,
marketeers and chislers steal grain from
the unwary. Trend of the future in
Comedia. Its a good thing when nobody
knows what is goin on, er has any plans
                whatsoever. Freedom rains, confusion,
corruption and theft is a good way ta
run a business. Maybe someone should
ask the Ritz biscuit whats happenin, er
does he have his head up his as, er
stuck in the sand like ostrich men are
prone ta do. What the hell is goin on,
                besides Christmas joy! Comedia has
totally gone rouge. How about this
                global warming, obviously all carpola
too, after all, we normally have a braun
                Christmas in Comedia!!!!!!!!

Markets are fun Burbert. My starting point is what today's price is and then from there what does the future hold. Maybe a Comedian farmer activity but in many cases the diffence between a profitable farm and failing one.

But as you said, farming is a way of life and not a real business. My response will always be if you treat a farm like a business, it is a great way of life. If you treat farming like a way of life, it is an extremely poor. Lots of people who participate on this website who understand this and make way more money than you or I ever will. I'm not jealous of them or wish to take it away - they work hard, take risk, have a big investment and deserve their success. Why I like working in Agriculture.

                    charlie, You's an Albertie gobernmont
lackey, shill if you will. You's towing
                    the Albertie Barley Commission line,
cousin you fear fer your job, and
                    pension.
Your advice is worth very little to reel
framers. On Angriville, however you an
expert, legend in yous own mind, helped
write the Albertie marketing course, fun
and games fer all! Chislers far and
                    wide, flock to such seminars........

I turn 59 in two days. Will only work as long as I am contributing to the agriculture industry and having fun. Can only be judged by my employer and the farmers/industry I work with on the first part. On the last question, I still enjoy what I do.

Merry Christmas and all the best in the New Year.
