One problem with S series pricing is all the new extras in the price. Such as prodrive $11,000-$12,000,hopper covers $4,000,JDlink ??-$2,000,IT4-??,bigger tires, more expensive spreaders, rethrasher etc.
Not wanting to cause a stir, but I wouldn't buy a 2011 9770 if it was only $68,000 less than a 2012 S680. Would have to be at least $100,000 less than the new one. Dont't think you would buy another 9770 for $68,000 less than the S680.

Lots of e.xtra shit that's not really a big addition
just boosts price. The dealer is trying to make
same margin on new as used.
Will st back no need to change ran the new one
for a few days nice but not that much nicer.

It looks to me like all dealers are over run with used. I see some lots with 25 high value combine trades sitting in a line. If I'm a dealer sitting on that kind of inventory value that's not moving, I will only sell a new machine if I can get a huge margin. If things slow down, I expect to see some dealers in trouble.

Why tourment the dealer then? If someone was wasting my time like that i would ask high numbers as well just to send a message. Most dealers can't stand guys that play egotisical games.
For a guy that whines and complains about his bad luck, hail, flooded out, heat stressed, frosted out crops, just seems strange how much money you throw around - for being a "stingy, cheap sob" LOL

Looked at some of the posted comments below the
video. One read "when someone dies you are
supposed to say something good. So, Kim Jong Il is
dead. Good". But then again, what makes anyone think
change coming will be any better? Could actually
become worse. Seems like good folks have come to
believe that change for the sake of change is always
            good. Says who?

Your right furrow, but before I sign the cheque I like to know how much I have to pay.

I swear some guys let the dealer write the cheque and sometime during the coffee talk the cheque gets signed and the guy doesn't care.

Dealers are nearly sold out of new everything, lots are full of low hour/acre used. They have all the cards this year. IF economy slows the diff might be less after one more year, if we can afford it. If it booms, well, we will all pay more yet, but will afford it. Wild card will be interest rates. Take your best bet!
The 70's and 80's saw new machinery prices sky rocket. Used prices even increased. Paid interest rates up to 16%!
