Cotton it is impossible, the CWB would become what they hate. Their life blood is their view that farmers must be helpless sheep. To put them in a position of power and wealth would go against their ideology.

I have nothing against putting cwb assets up for auction as a whole auction one price for everything, our gov't could put a clause in the sale that the winning buyer must opperate as a grain buyer and use all assets for x number of years cannot sell sell any asset with extra investment demanded also, could even offer special privillages to a max dollar amount that other grain companies do not have that eventually dissappear.
Made into a publicly traded corp with only real farmer investment opportunity for the first 5 years with winning buyer having first option to match any bids. Then after that open to anyone . Oh how I wish to dive back into the ex wife's box.

Not sure how this winning buyer to match farmer bids to work. I just think farmers if they want to should have first option to buy. Maybe durring auction all farmers should be allowed to invest at the auction sale price, after that open to all public.
Anyways this does create and keep a trading entity for our grain and can be viewed as good for Canada.

To clearify winning buyer must offer shares to real farmers for same as their winning bid. Run just the same as any other publicly traded corp. Like cotton says the opportunity here can be big.

Then agstar and willie can shut up about corporate profits going to shareholders, cause they had first chance to match the price. chuck can still bitch but no one listens to him anyway.
