Good point cotton. I was thinking more that my ancestors could have gone zimbabwe way. That would have sucked!

Cotton: Your comments are true only if you measure success in dollars or technological advancment. "Others" found a way to live in this somewhat hostile environment, in harmony with nature and taking only what they needed. It is probably one of the better places in the world to live and for that I too am glad my forefathers chose Canada to immigrate to. And you are absolutely right about the titan analogy. If my son wants this place it will 5 generations that made a living growing crops on this land. But it is those that came before us that really made this country what it is today. Happy Canada Day everyone!!!!!!

We attended a shiveree for Amanda and Paul at the colony next door, then went to grad exercises in town, slept for 3 hours and then flew to Halifax. Had breakfast in NovaScotia, coffee in NewBrunswick and lobster for supper in PEI. Watched fireworks in North Rustico, PEI. Never been here before, beautiful little island. Here for wedding of nephew from Alta. and his PEI hometown girl.
