When wheat is worth $30.00/bushel, we will be receiving $12.00. Set your sights lower on what you think land will be worth.

What land worth with initials at $1.40/bus for wheat? Cotton you know very well we will never see 1/2 of that price with the current system in our lifetimes. I hope your right but not in Canada.

Down side of this land opportunity in Sask is a long way from port and customers and in a 'designated area'.

The area has the highest freight rates. Shortest growing season. Highest rainfall and presently saturated increasingly saline soil, not easily drained.

The world population increases by 200,000 people/day They all are going to need something to eat and somewhere to live. I bought a half section of bush land 7 years ago for 40,000 today it's worth 160,000 as bush land. Around here land value is doubling every 5 years.

Everything corrects in price over time, always has always will. Yes long term land values will increase but not at the rate we have seen in the past three years. There will be a pull back at some time that's the time to buy - at least in our area. One would be very, very foolish to think land will invrease every year.

I agree the time to buy is during a pullback period as furrow stated. Only thing is there hasn't been one of those in this area since 1988. The next time one comes around I will be retired.

That is what I am talking about. I bought land in 2002 and in 2004 when all wanted out. Then sat back for 200000 last spring and average 100000 now. But if the example is for the area hit hardest. Its simply about timing and that is one area where it just might be the right time.
