"the CWB keeps the little guys in business."

You've got to be kidding, right?

So the two extremes then are:

      1. The CWB as is

      or

      2. An open market

Please tell us what the "middle" ground between these two points may be. I've always thought that a voluntary wheatboard was the middle ground. If you don't think that's the case PSB please explain why and tell us what you think the middle ground might be.

As to self interest. PSB whose interest do you work for if not for yourself and your family? Do you put your farm at the bottom of your own personal priority list?

The CWB has went from single desk selling to single desk buying. I can see it now if we have an early frost the Wheat board pulls out of the market as alot of the good quality wheat has already been sold and not even harvested yet. Bring back bad memories?

              Stubble,

Who sells MORE wheat to Japan than the CWB? The USA. Who has the 4th rate wheat 'footnote' in world wheat trade?

The CWB. AND the CWB claims to be the largest wheat and barley marketer on the planet earth?

I suppose the CWB deceives and lulls themselves at closing time each evening... that they are the 'Champions' of the world...

While the real global grain marketers who must make the books balance and return value to both shareholders and growers alike... are humble enough to ignore the CWB's self serving arrogant rhetoric (I am being charitable here!).

Stubble... fear and deceit, half truths and horrible marketing performance... arrogance... by folks who have no true 'skin' in the market... mean this CWB system is simply not sustainable.

Whoever wrote; 'The Pro and Con CWB whack jobs take over yet another forum' could take a long gander in the mirror... Do they even care...?

I think Praire's sods are busted. I wish he was my neighbour because the "industry" is more important than his farm so I bet he'd haul my grain before his, custom seed my land before his, help out my kids before his, etc. I, unfortunately, am only a whack job who would help others if needed.

                      Crop,

This was like an allegorical drive by shooting of the locals at a grocery store... Bored juveniles wanted to get off on the screams and see who they might hurt without getting caught.
